Why me?
Being someone who hate's having their photo taken, I understand that having someone follow you around all day, with a camera in your face, could seem like an absolute nightmare. However, with being a documentary style photographer, it's all about capturing moments without being intrusive. I primarily use telephoto lenses, which allows me to take photos from a distance and not add a constant feeling of pressure, of a camera lingering over your shoulder the whole day.
Despite being a documentary style photographer, and aiming for a mostly candid gallery. I know that formal group photos are a big part of a wedding day too, and I'm more than happy to include this in our planning.
Another big fear on a wedding day is the scary 'couples photos'. Which is another thing that I like to be as candid and relaxed as possible. Instead of being meticulous and spending ages getting the two of you to do awkward and cliché poses that neither of you want to be doing. I think it's always nicer to go on a short walk, later on in the day and just capture some natural moments between the two of you. To help things a long, I may suggest we stop along the way and potentially hint that the two of you should hold hands or kiss one another on the forehead. But who cares? You guys will be married by this point and can do what you like!
What's Included?
Your choice of start and finish time.
Tailor your cover to what suits you best. On average, a wedding photographer covers around 10-12 hours, if you include getting ready all the way to evening celebrations. However, sometimes morning prep photos aren't for everyone and it's completely ok to leave these out and start a little bit later.
Previews within 24 hours.
Waiting to receive your full gallery can sometimes feel like a long wait. I like to deliver a handful of edited, hi resolution images by the next day. So you have some photos to enjoy in the meantime and share with your friends on social media.
A shareable online gallery.
View all of your photos on a lovely online gallery for a whole year. You will be able to download your photos directly from the gallery using a PIN that you can also share with anyone you like. You will also be able to order beautiful prints from the same gallery.
Unlimited consultations.
Planning a wedding can be pretty tough as there's lots to think of and most of the time, it's something people have never done before. So right from the start of your booking, I'll be available for any advice, support or just general tips.
Cost
-
£130 ph. of coverage
Most wedding photographers offer an endless list of packages that leaves you confused and in a position where you don't know what's the best value for your money.
I like to keep things straight forward and a bit more flexible. This way, you're in complete control and able to balance what's right with your budget.
I charge £130 per hour of coverage, meaning a full 10 hour day (which is about average if you include getting ready, all the way until the first dance) would cost £1300.
Second photographers are available for £40 per hour of coverage.
FAQ
How many pictures will we get?
This is hard to answer because it really depends on what happens during the day and how long I spend with you. I don't have any set rules other than 'as many as is needed to tell your story'. This typically ranges from 200 - 500.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based in Mayfield, East Sussex. Which is roughly located halfway between London and Brighton. Which means I'm very flexible as to where I can travel. I'd be happy to travel as far as needed for the right wedding.
How and when do we get our photos?
Since weddings involve taking sooo many photos, it usually takes a little while to sort through all of them and get them edited. I aim to have them with you in 4 weeks, however depending on how busy a time your wedding falls in this could be a little later. All of my couples receive a link to an online gallery which you can share with all of your guests, family and friends. I can also provide high quality prints if you have any favourite photos as well as a fancy USB with all of your high-res images.
Do I need a second photographer?
If you have a large guest list or you'd like to capture as much of your day as possible, I can provide a second photographer who will work in the same style as me. It costs more but it means that we can cover the both of you getting ready, guests arriving at the ceremony, a wider range of angles during the ceremony and just better coverage at the reception. It's very much up to you but if your guest list is towards the 100 mark and you've got the cash, it's definitely worth it. We will blend in easily and double the photographers means double the coverage.
